Don't seek God's will to do good

Too many wait to do great things, even difficult things. They wait for permission, they wait for a calling. Don’t wait, just go.

Don't seek God's will to do good

“Don’t  preach the truth of God’s word unless God tells you when and where to  do it.” says John Avery Whitaker on the Adventures in Odyssey audio  series. We were all in the car driving somewhere and I stopped the  program to address this breach in theology and good sense.

OK, let me backup a little. That isn’t  exactly how Mr. Whitaker said it. As it happened, another character in  the series was trying to determine whether they should go to Africa as  missionaries or not. He then advised him that he should only do so with a  clear calling and directive from God.

I say Hogwash!, Poppycock! You don’t need God’s permission to do  good. God is longing for His people to do great and hard things. He may  call some in a specific way and He may even call people back from good  intended plans. But that is not the norm, and we should not wait on God  to do what we know is good and right.

Too many wait to do great things, even difficult things. They wait  for permission, they wait for a calling. Don’t wait, just go. Promote  truth, fight for justice, protect the weak, preach, teach, evangelize.

There is great need. The need is the call. Go.
